Established in 2006, Ohana Surf Shop is a locally owned and family-operated surf and lifestyle store located on Hutchinson Island in Stuart, Florida. Born from a deep love of surf culture and coastal living, we offer a curated selection of surfboards, apparel, accessories, and locally made goods for men, women, and children.
In Hawaiian, ohana means family — but it goes beyond just relatives. It represents a spirit of belonging, support, and unity, where everyone is included and no one is left behind. That’s exactly how we run our shop: rooted in community, driven by passion, and always looking to give back.

At Ohana Surf Shop, we believe surfing is more than a sport — it’s a lifestyle rooted in community, compassion, and care for the ocean. Since opening in 2006, giving back has been core to our mission. Here’s how we share the stoke with our local and extended family:
🏄♂️ Singlefin Showdown
Established in 2009, the Singlefin Showdown is our annual longboard competition that brings together surfers of all ages and skill levels. It's more than just a contest — it's a day filled with:
🎸 Live music and local vendors
🏄♂️ Longboard surf divisions for all levels
💛 Community and charity focus
Most importantly, the event supports Brooke Thabit, who suffered a spinal cord injury in 2012 at just 17 years old. Thanks to sponsors, raffle prizes, and entry fees, we’ve raised over $300,000 to help cover Brooke’s equipment and caregiving needs.

We offer in-store discounts and host surf days to honor our everyday heroes. We also support Operation 300, a nonprofit that empowers Gold Star children through adventure and outdoor events.🌊 Surfers for Autism
In 2009, we helped bring SFA to Martin County, offering surf experiences to children with autism and their families. Our efforts were featured on NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw in 2011.🏄 Special Olympics of Martin County
In 2012, we hosted a surf event for Special Olympics athletes, which has since grown into a statewide sanctioned event with thousands of participants annually.🦈 Local Hero Support
We’ve raised over $35,000 to assist Jeremy Carr and Cole Taschman with medical costs after shark bite incidents.
